A 35mm range finder camera for a 16th birthday present from his parents hooked Marty on photography. Photography has been Marty Markoe’s passion ever since.

He initially supported himself working as a teacher in The South Bronx. Through the 1980s he used 35mm, 2¼, 4×5 and 8×10 cameras. Using only natural light, B&W subjects included Street Photography, Landscapes, Abstracts and Portraits.

1998 ushered  the transformation to digital photography. The new technology from darkroom and  color was seamless. He continued to photograph the same genres as with B&W.  Starting in 2022 single images have been re-constructed into Fliptychs.  Triptychs and Quadtychs variations are recent additions.
